The Best Kind of History
Pittsburgh is a city of history and memories! There are museums and ball parks and restaurants full of stories to tell and halls of fame display. But the best kind of history is the kind that tells stories close to our hearts and the people we love. And for the Endaya family, Pittsburgh holds that kind of history!
Grandma (called “Nana” by her grandchildren!) was celebrating her birthday this month and this sweet family took their celebrations to the next level. Since she was born in Pittsburgh, they decided to travel together as a family back to her roots! How far did this family have to travel, you might ask? Only all the way from CALIFORNIA!! How amazing is that?! The Endayas are such big Pittsburgh fans and it was so much fun to be around. It gave me a fresh perspective and love for this city I get to call home!
The Endayas made the most of this birthday trip, visiting everywhere from the Grandview Overlook and the Roberto Clemente Bridge (where we had their session!), to a Pirates Game and the Children’s Museum. But one of the most memorable moments for them was visiting the neighborhood where Nana grew up, and finally, seeing HER grandma’s house! She told me it was such a special moment for her to go back to where it all began - and now have her own grandchildren there with her! So much history to share, so many stories to tell - and now they were making new memories in that same city!
Clearly Pittsburgh is a beautiful city with so much history. But sometimes the best stories are the ones that aren’t as well known as we may think - the ones that you’re willing to travel all the way from California to relive. They’re in going back to your roots and making memories with the people you love. God is the One who gives us these memories (see more about that on my blog here!) and they are so precious. I can’t wait for you to see some of those precious memories captured with the Endayas!
